There are many interesting walks nearby some following footpaths or country lanes, for the more adventurous, the Lakeland Fells give you the opportunity to test your walking skills and agility and witness some stunning and spectacular scenery.

If you prefer to cycle, you will also not be disappointed, there are numerous cycle routes through out the area, or you can cycle at your leisure on the quiet country lanes. Cycles can be stored at Cragg Farm by arrangement. Mountain Bikes can be hired locally.

Ridding stables and Trekking centres are located nearby, booking is recommended.

Lake Windermere offers the largest selection of water activities from speedboats and water skiing to rowing boats, some people find a lake cruise very enjoyable.

Fishing is possible in some lakes and rivers; a local licence may however be required.

There are an array af historic houses and Castles to visit, each offering spectacular architecture and design, many were homes to famous authors or distinguished people.

If you fancy a round of golf, there are many courses, from 9 to 18 holes or a golf driving range.
